Heidegger Essay Topics To Do: The Points to Focus on

Heidegger Essay Topics To Do: The Points to Focus onAmong the many Heidegger essay topics to choose from, the choice for writing a dissertation on his philosophy and works, is definitely one of the more challenging. The reason why it is so difficult is because of the vast body of information out there on him. As a result, you will have to be very careful in finding out what areas of the work he really did not touch on or that he has left out completely. The more you learn about Heidegger, the more it seems as though you are missing out on areas in which his works, and thought, could have been expanded upon. Luckily, there are some things you can do to help narrow down your search even further. The first thing you should do is research, research on Heidegger's life. Since he was a Jewish German, his perspective on religion and culture would not necessarily apply to your own country. Take the time to find out where he learned these things and if he was taught by his parents or friends.Si nce Heidegger wrote so many essays and books, his published works and those he authored as a university professor is also a good guide. Look at any that interest you, as well as any books he would recommend reading. These might include any good selections from the philosophy of his works. Also, any books that are in the philosophy of science that are not generally available to the general public. You should then also consider the resources that Heidegger had access to and any that are not easily accessible. For example, he would likely have been able to refer to documents that he would have found in libraries and perhaps local government offices. It is often said that this is one of the best sources of information, as it is quite easy to find. The other way of doing your research is to turn to your teachers, as they might have additional sources of information than you know of. This is a great way to start, as it is often quite useful to be able to ask them directly questions about hi s thought. You may also want to enlist the help of your fellow students to help you with research and to provide you with updated information as well. Many teachers and instructors are often willing to share resources they may have in their personal library. One of the best essay topics to choose from is the work that is in your own hands. Of course, you should never give away any specific sources, as this could get you into trouble. However, take as much as you can from your teacher and anyone else you may be able to ask for references. There are many essay topics that can help you with this. Some may require you to read more than one work, while others might focus on the life of a particular writer or thinker. By taking your time to research the ideas and aspects of Heidegger's works, you can be sure to write a dissertation on someone who has a lot to say about many subjects, and whose life has many perspectives and threads that span the globe.

The Poetry of Wallace Stevens - 946 Words

Though Wallace Stevens commonly uses a blank-verse writing style in his poetry, staying true to the style’s definition of unrhymed lines with consistent meter, â€Å"Sunday Morning† differs from the poet’s other work as he maintains consistency in stanza structure as well. Here, each of the eight stanzas consists of 15 feet and contain 10 beats per line (classic iambic pentameter). This extremely organized structure seems ironic, as the poem’s theme involves the death of Christianity and organized religion. However, it also lends to Stevens’ message of the importance of life and death, and the immaculate nature and consistency seen in earth’s life cycles. â€Å"Sunday Morning† is an example of Wallace Stevens’ romantic-period writing style, as he articulates the human connection to nature and the existence of spirituality within ones physical surroundings. The uncompromising structure of the poem provides a meditative rhythm (showing Stevens connection to Milton and the romanic era) as the speaker reflects on the relationship between oneself and the natural environment. Simultaneously, Stevens’ use of blank-verse and inclusion of both enjambments and end-stopped lines allows for artistic exploration, mirroring a human thought pattern and the speaker’s mental exploration of personal beliefs. The syntax resembles a racing mind, as the sentence structure is the only aspect of the poem that does not follow a strict pattern. This is evident as the speaker ponders a Pagan perspective,Show MoreRelatedAnalysis Of The Poem Of Modern Poetry By Wallace Stevens Essay1186 Words   |  5 PagesTaking a broad view at one of Wallace Stevens’s poems shows clues that Stevens believes in Heraclitus’s theory. Benefits of Going Holidays Free Essays

What is the psychological benefit of going on holiday? For most of us life involves the constant routine of work, whether at home with the family or within a business. Household duties, shopping, cooking, and looking after our families, watching television and whatever other hobbies or activities we engage in keep our minds active and occupied day in day out. If we interpret our situation to be stressful, forced, without choice or robotic then the constant engagement in life can wear us down and leave us feeling less than enthusiastic. We will write a custom essay sample on Benefits of Going Holidays or any similar topic only for you Order Now If we feel unhappy about our situation and yet do not see a way to change it to what we would rather have, life can become a chore rather than exhilarating and exciting. It’s not always easy to change a job we do not enjoy or feel suitably challenging. It’s not always appropriate, financially or emotionally realistic to leave difficult relationships or stressful family situations, therefore we endure our current lifestyles, regardless. Read more in Holidays  « Four Leaf Clover Brings Luck? Guest Country and Republic Day  » How can we get away from an unchanging routine? In the same way you would take a break from over-involvement in a demanding task to clear your mind and gain new perspective before returning to recreate new ideas, you can take a holiday in order to refresh your mind from the prolonged identity with sameness, stress, fatigue or monotony. Obviously our lives do not have to be troubled or stressful to appreciate a holiday but no matter what we engage in daily, there is routine of some sort, therefore a change of scenery and new exciting stimulation for our minds is advisable in order to remind ourselves there is more to life than the ongoing routine of our current situations. Some people experience a sense of freedom the moment they lock the front door to their house, and their holiday has begun. Everyday life is left behind. For others it’s being on the aeroplane, physically identifying with having left their country or even just their county behind. For others it’s a few days into their holiday when they can identify and appreciate several days off together, which they normally do not experience in working life. Whatever it is for you, when it hits home you are free to do exactly as you wish; eat when you like, relax and read a book or go for a walk, engage in water sports, soak up the scenery, admire the architecture, rekindle romance, have fun with the children – you can completely relax and give your entire mind and body a well deserved holiday. Engaging in the freedom of not having to worry about time or deadlines or even family demands is extremely beneficial to our well-being. Life without tasks can be boring and uneventful but in order to appreciate what we have and identify with our own self worth and admiration of all that we do in life – it is advisable to take time out and experience the opposite as we enjoy complete relaxation without any demands. Choose a holiday in line with your idea of relaxation, which for an individual could be anything from a camping holiday to relaxing on a cruise ship or sightseeing in Barcelona. There is no point going on holiday to do more of what you do not want to do. Our minds need a break from ongoing concentration just as much as our bodies do if they are working continuously on an arduous task. Have a change of scenery and enjoy the contrast between complete choice in the moment and the scheduled routine of home and work life. How to cite Benefits of Going Holidays, Papers

Growth Strategy The case study explains how Kelly has managed to establish a successful business. She has been selling foods and sandwiches to her customers for the last five years. Now it is the time for Kelly to expand her business. That being the case, it is necessary for Kelly to have the best strategy for her n ew business (Bovee Thill, 2012). The first step is to â€Å"understand† the current position of the business and identify the anticipated goals. The step will help Kelly outline her targeted goals and personal expectations. The second step is to â€Å"analyze† the existing gaps. The entrepreneur will have to investigate the experiences of her employees and customers. The third step is â€Å"planning†. This step will help Kelly sensitize her employees about the targeted business growth (Bovee Thill, 2012). As well, Kelly should create a business plan during this step. The fourth step is â€Å"executing† the targeted growth strategy. This step will monitor and address issues such as governance, leadership, and implementation. The fifth step is â€Å"testing and optimizing†. After implementing the new growth strategy, Kelly should revisit her ideas and examine the progress of her business. This approach will make it easier for Kelly to organize and prioritize her business growth strategy. Business Form As presented in the case study, Kelly has the opportunity to have a new business venture. The new space is approximately 10 miles away from her current location. Kelly’s current expansion strategy is limited to a small restaurant space. The entrepreneur should do her business alone. This is the best approach towards a profitable business. For the past five years, Kelly has been satisfied with her achieveme nts. Her â€Å"trailer-concession business† has succeeded despite the existing challenges. The above strategy explains how Kelly can establish a successful sole proprietorship business. The only alternative for Kelly is to form a â€Å"partnership† business. However, a partnership business will not support her current expansion goals. The new location is close to her food suppliers and a shopping mall. This is a clear indication that her new business will be successful. Financial Assistance In the short-term, the entrepreneur wants to grow her business into a lucrative enterprise. The new enterprise will market a variety of services and food products thus increasing its â€Å"competitive edge† in the targeted region. It will be impossible for Kelly to realize her short-term goals without investing a lot of money. Some of the possible sources of finance include â€Å"bank loans, venture capitalists, grants, family and friends, and personal savings† (Gitman McDaniel, 2008). These options will make it easier for Kelly to pursue her business goals. It is agreeable that Kelly has some savings from her current business. At the same time, she can borrow money from her friends and relatives. The approach will make it easier for her to pursue her goals without getting a loan. As well, it is notable that Kelly will achieve her short-term goals with such kind of financial assistance. After getting the starting capital, Kelly will be able to grow her small business into a lucrative enterprise. This will make it easier for Kelly to increase her competitiveness in the region. Organizational Structure and Staffing Needs The other important thing for Kelly to consider is that of â€Å"management†. Kelly should employ less than 20 employees.Advertising We will write a custom essay sample on Planning for Growth specifically for you for only $16.05 $11/page Learn More This will ensure the business has a few levels of leadership and management. After implementing the organizational structure, Kelly should embrace the concept of â€Å"teamwork†. She will be required to create several teams depending on the number of departments in the restaurant. She will also be required to train, mentor, and orient her employees The business will have several departments in order to make decision-making easier (Gitman McDaniel, 2008). After training the staff, it will be easier to provide the best services and support to the customers. It is also notable that a flat organizational structure eliminates bureaucracy. The approach makes it possible to form cohesive teams. This is the best approach towards a successful business strategy. That being the case, Kelly should ado pt a flat hierarchy. The hierarchy will help her train, mentor, organize, and orient her employees in a proper manner. Customers and Promotion Kelly plans to relocate her business and improve her current operations. The first thing to consider is how she can provide quality food products and sandwiches to her current customers. After relocating, Kelly should consider the best strategies to address the needs of her customers. She can achieve this goal by purchasing a vehicle. The vehicle will be used to deliver sandwiches and foods to the existing customers. This is one way of increasing sales and making her business successful. As well, Kelly will be required to use a new â€Å"promotional strategy† in order to attract more customers to her new business. The first strategy is to use marketing personnel to attract more people to her business (Gitman McDaniel, 2008). She can also use â€Å"billboards† and â€Å"television channels† to advertise her business. The other important approach is the use of social media. More people are today using the social media to market their services and products. Kelly can use Twitter and Facebook to inform more people about her new food products and services. Such businesses also promote the best ethical practices in order to emerge successful. After relocating her business, Kelly should consider the best strategies to retain her current employees. This is the best way to promote the best ethical practices. As well, the business should retain its current customers as described above. Kelly should also continue marketing healthy products to her new customers. After relocating, Kelly should support the communities in order to promote a socially responsible business. Kelly will also be required to create an ethical business that addresses the needs of her stakeholders and communities. The business practices should be â€Å"environmentally-friendly† and sustainable (Henn, 2009). The enterprise can support different activities such as â€Å"tree planting practices†. Kelly can also address most of the soc ial problems affecting the community. This is the best approach towards establishing an â€Å"ethically† responsible business. The approach will eventually make her enterprise successful. Concluding Summary It is notable from the above discussion that Kelly has the potential to establish a successful enterprise. The Tempest and The Explorers essays

The Tempest and The Explorers essays You taught me language , and my profit ont Is, I know how to curse. The red plague rid you for learning me your language! Caliban. The two texts The Tempest and The Explorers are shown to be both highly influenced by the time period in which they were composed. The targeted audience also played a significant role in the formation, language and ideas conveyed within the texts. The most notable influence and theme throughout the tempest would have to be Montaignes essay On Cannibals in which he continually asserts that what is natural is synomous with what is good, and that nature herself ought to be the light which human action is guided. Shakespeare incorporates this theory in the character of Caliban, the mere name Caliban mirrors the word Cannibal. Both Montaigne and Shakespeare explore the relationship between nature and modern civilisation. Montaignes idealisation of cannibals contrasts sharply with Shakespeares portrayal of the brutish Caliban. Shakespeares cannibal (Caliban) appears to be as pathetic, crass and vulgar as any individual can possibly be portrayed Calibans first speech emphasises the conflict that arises from his lack of gratitude towards his master. Prospero, having drawn Caliban away from his savagery and towards modernity, believes that Caliban owes him a debt of gratitude. Caliban essentially feels betrayed and this is evident in the tone and language used to address Prospero in his first speech: This Islands mine by Sycorax my mother, which thou takst from me. When thou camst first, Thou strokst me and made much of me...... .......and then I loved thee........... For I am all the subjects that you have,Which first was mine own king, and here you sty me in th...

Word Choice Reoccur vs. Recur

Word Choice Reoccur vs. Recur Word Choice: Reoccur vs. Recur Many of the homophones we look at on this blog have completely different uses from one another. But â€Å"reoccur† and â€Å"recur† can both mean â€Å"happen again.† So are they interchangeable? Not always! There is a subtle difference between these terms, as we will explain below. Reoccur (Happen Again) â€Å"Reoccur† is a verb that means â€Å"happen again.† In fact, it is literally a combination of the prefix â€Å"re-† (meaning â€Å"again†) and â€Å"occur† (meaning â€Å"happen†). As such, we could say: Symptoms may reoccur if treatment is discontinued. Here, for example, we’re saying that the symptoms may occur again. Frequency does not matter with this term, so we can use â€Å"reoccur† even if something has only happened twice: Patrick’s back problem from last summer reoccurred. In the sentence above, for instance, we’re describing the second occurrence of something. But we’re not saying it happens regularly or frequently. Recur (Happen at Regular Intervals) â€Å"Recur† is another verb that means of â€Å"happen again.† For example: Symptoms may recur if treatment is discontinued. This sense of â€Å"recur† is thus interchangeable with â€Å"reoccur.† However, â€Å"recur† can also mean ‘happens repeatedly or at regular intervals’. For instance: Fear of technological change recurs throughout Dickens’ writing. In this sentence, â€Å"recur† implies that Dickens returns to the theme of technological fear repeatedly in his writing, not simply that he wrote about it a couple of times. So when something happens frequently or regularly, it is better to use â€Å"recur† than â€Å"reoccur.† Summary: Reoccur or Recur? While â€Å"recur† and â€Å"reoccur† are usually close in meaning, they do differ in some cases. Keep the following guideline in mind: To reoccur is to happen more than once, regardless of how often. To recur means to happen repeatedly or at regular intervals. Thus, if something happens repeatedly or regularly (e.g., the sunrise), you can say it â€Å"recurs.† But if something has happened more than once without happening regularly, use â€Å"reoccur† instead.
